Jambo Africa Online proudly unveils a new feature dedicated to the pursuit and celebration of love across borders, beautifully titled “Hathor’s Love.” Inspired by Hathor — the revered Egyptian goddess of love, beauty, tenderness and joy — this series explores the rich tapestry of love stories that transcend geography and culture. The feature aims to deepen cross-national romantic connections, strengthen people-to-people relations, and showcase how love remains one of the most powerful bridges between nations. Guiding these heartfelt narratives is our esteemed host, MAMARCH SENNANE, who brings warmth, insight, and a uniquely pan-African sensibility to every story shared.
Finding love in the modern world has become increasingly challenging, especially for individuals whose lives revolve around demanding careers, studies, and personal development. Recognising this growing need, I – as an ambitious and purpose-driven Mosotho woman in my mid-30s – I have established this initiative, “Mountain Kingdom Love” (MKLove). It’s a discreet, professional matchmaking service designed to connect single people seeking meaningful relationships.
My journey is deeply rooted in service. Born and raised in Lesotho, I earned my Social Work degree from the National University of Lesotho, graduating in 2015. Since 2016, I have worked with various non-governmental organisations across the country, focusing on community-based projects aimed at empowering individuals socially and economically. My commitment to professional growth led me to further studies in Agile Project Management at the University of Cape Town and Psychosocial Support at Maasai Mara University.

I have worked in many districts of Lesotho, interacting with people from different cultural backgrounds, values, and societal norms. This gave me a lifetime experience to learn and embrace different ways of living and use some of them to transform my own life.
Despite the diversity of individuals I met: professionals, co-workers, friends, and business associates, I noticed a recurring pattern: many people are struggling to balance career growth with finding love. Regardless of age or location, highly accomplished individuals seem to face similar challenges
Are people too busy chasing their dreams to socialise? Or are they struggling to find partners who share their vision, values, and lifestyles? These are the questions I always asked myself.
Curious to dig deeper, I conducted a mini-survey within my circle to understand why so many remained single. Several common themes emerged:
– Balancing career and love is difficult, especially for those who study abroad for years and return feeling disconnected from potential partners.
– Many men fear rejection, assuming successful women are already taken or beyond their reach.
– Women shared that their independence often intimidates potential partners, making it harder to find genuine love.
– Demanding jobs leave little time for socializing.
– Some struggle to find partners who truly match their values and standards.
Motivated by these revelations, I founded “Mountain Kingdom Love”, a professional matchmaking platform designed to help single individuals connect with suitable partners privately and meaningfully. Initially launched in Lesotho, the service quickly expanded to South Africa, Botswana, and Eswatini as demand grew.
As a trained Social Worker, confidentiality is at the core of my practice. I understand the importance of protecting clients’ information and assisting them professionally. Not everyone wants it known that they are searching for love, so everything is done privately. Protecting clients’ dignity is the foundation of MKLove.
MKLove prioritises safety and authenticity. Every candidate undergoes a verification process requiring mandatory documents to confirm identity and eliminate imposters. Though barely two months old, the platform has already facilitated several successful matches, both locally and across borders.
The long-term vision for MKLove is extensive. With a lot of inquiries coming from across continents, the platform aims to expand throughout Africa and eventually worldwide. Efforts are underway to integrate online tools for smoother operations and easier access for candidates everywhere.
