AU Youth Start Up Virtual Event

The primary objective of the youth start-up programme is to address the barriers to youth
entrepreneurship in Africa, noting that this constituency is best placed to drive Africa’s industrial revolution.

One of the Key themes in the Panel discussion today will be Empowering Youth Start-Ups as Key Drivers of Africa’s Economic and Digital Transformation.

The Youth Start Up Programme focus:
• Connect African entrepreneurs to growth and expansion capital – from venture capitalists and other financiers
• Provide entrepreneurs / innovators with technical capacity training through masterclasses;
• Provide both physical and virtual platforms on which African entrepreneurs can exhibit their products and services;
• Facilitate partnerships and cooperation between the various stakeholders in the ecosystem, including the start-ups, incubation hubs, financiers and investors;
• Provide a platform on which Africa’s youth entrepreneurs can participate in the policy debate.
