UN Women has announced the theme for International Women’s Day on 8 March 2022 (IWD 2022) as “Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow”. This is intended to recognise the contribution of women and girls around the world who are leading the charge on climate change adaptation, mitigation and response to build a more sustainable future for all.

A woman’s perception of leadership begins not with collegiate academic success, her first big break or when she’s named to a position of power. The trajectory to female leadership starts much earlier and is defined by key influences throughout life.

To mark this day, the Global Council for the Promotion of International Trade (GCPIT), Global Mentor of Change, Global Founders’ Council for Sustainable Development, Global Alliance of Angel Investor and Venture Capital Networks and The Great Leaders Council will be celebrating “Global Women in Leadership Awards 2022” on 8 March 2022. In line with the safety protocols intended to contain the spread of COVID-19, this event will be virtual.
