South African Media Personality is at it again. This time, with a fundraising event that seeks to provide disadvantaged children with warm items this winter. The Johannesburg-based Mohale Motaung, who is known to embark on various philanthropic activities to impact the lives of the most vulnerable sections of our communities, has partnered with The Impact Hub and the Marriot Hotel Melrose Arch in this worthy cause.
On 12 February 2021, Mohale announced this new charitable venture where he and his team, donated school shoes and vouchers to disadvantaged pupils from Kwa-Nobuhle, Queenstown and Tembisa schools in Gauteng. The initiative i #ForTheYouthFoundation focuses on helping South African children access education without having to struggle with everyday basic necessities.
Mohale, along with his team, managed to donate 60 pairs of school shoes to Grade 1’s at Mthonjeni Primary School. The next stop was Phakamisa Primary school in Queenstown where more school shoes were donated to Grade 1 learners. The last leg of the drive was at Mvelaphanda Primary School in Tembisa where the campaign ended.
This time, Mohale has considered the winter season and is inviting the public to lend a hand in his efforts to make winter more bearable for youngsters from the disadvantaged communities. The event will take place on 26 May 2021 at the Archer Bar and Eatery and participants are encouraged to bring warm clothing and blankets for donation. Financial donations are welcome too. The event begins at 18h00 and is open to the public.
