The latest luxury Red Carpet Event Celebrated The Elderly in Mpumalanga the 4th of May. It was hosted by the Collen Mashawana Foundation in partnership with Mrs Mpumalanga; Mr Anicia Mabusa; Blessing M Holdings; Shanei Born; and Sello Morule.

This honorary event started off with a chauffeur experience, captured by a moment in time (by the paparazzi) followed by being spoiled for the morning.

Why a Red Carpet Chauffeur Lunch for our grandmas and pas you ask…

Because they’re often neglected and forgotten…

We don’t always realise that ageing holds challenges that require resilience and strength to make it through each day. However Mrs Mpumalanga 2024 Finalist, Anicia Mabuza, is a social worker at the elderly centres, and is passionate about taking care of the elderly and as a result she spearheaded this event.

Some of the challenges are declining health, requiring increased healthcare needs. financial stress because of fixed incomes and rising costs, and social isolation.

It’s easy for the elderly to feel forgotten, slipping through the cracks of our busy lives. Yet, their presence enriches our communities in profound ways. Seniors bring with them a wealth of experience, wisdom, and stories that deserve to be honoured and cherished.

By recognising their value we can empower seniors to age with dignity and purpose. This is why we took the time to treat the elderly to the Red Carpet Chauffeur Lunch.

This is the inside information of the happenings of the day and who was there to make this event spectacular…

A chauffeur experience of note by Omoda Motors.

Mesmerising Music by Stix

As guests walked the red carpet, Stix’s saxophone melodies filled the air, adding an elegant and sophisticated atmosphere. His soulful performance captivated the crowd, transcending mere music to convey profound expression and emotion. With mesmerising grace and virtuosity, Stix’s music created an enchanting ambiance, weaving a tapestry of enchantment with each breath.

A lunch to remember served by the botanical Gardens Restaurant

Inside, tables were elegantly arranged with pristine white tablecloths and touches of gold, setting the stage for the opulent dining experience that awaits.

The delightful cuisine was generously provided by Zap travel and Omoda Mbombela who also sponsored refreshing water.

The who’s who, started and hosted the event…

The event commenced with an opening address delivered by Sello Morule, representing the Sello Morule Foundation, and a representative of the Premier’s office.

The event was beautifully hosted by Mrs. Mpumalanga Finalist Anicia Mabuza, with the gracious support of Shanei Born, who not only co-hosted but also led a heartwarming session of facial exercise, giving them an instant eyebrow lift.

With pride and unity, we raised our voices in unison, led by a beautiful granny that guided us through our national anthem.

The hosts were honoured to present a lineup of esteemed speakers who have graciously joined them on 4 May to share their wisdom and insights.

Alzheimer’s SA delivered an inspiring speech, followed by an engaging activity that brightened everyone’s morning, fostering a sense of connection and joy.

Dr. Nomusa Mlondo enlightened us on the importance of self-care, emphasising its significance in maintaining well-being and resilience amidst life’s challenges.

Wearing her other hat as the CEO of Blessing M Holdings, she shared her heartfelt commitment to serving humanity, expressing a genuine concern for the well-being of those less fortunate.

As ‘The Red Carpet Queen’, dedicated to organising events in support of Gender-Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF), her passion for advocacy shines through. She tirelessly seeks ways to engage businesses in supporting the people of Mpumalanga, recognising the importance of community involvement.

Acknowledging the challenges of ageing, Blessing conveyed appreciation, love, and recognition to the elderly, emphasising their value and significance in society.

Blessing’s vision reframes ageing not as a loss, but as a new chapter filled with potential and resilience.

Shanei Born, The #1 International Bestselling Author delivered a heartfelt message on the significance of building a legacy through story. She emphasised that by sharing our wisdom and experiences, we not only preserve our own history but also impart invaluable lessons to future generations.
