As South Africa marks Mandela Month, award-winning talent acquisition and transformation specialist MB Concepts (Pty) Ltd has announced a landmark development that embodies the values of equity, inclusion and transformational leadership championed by President Nelson Mandela.
Founder and Chief Executive Officer Linneth Mpete has welcomed renowned Transformation Strategist, Leadership Enhancer, Media Personality and Thought Leader Masingita Masunga as an equal shareholder and business partner, creating a powerful Black women-led leadership team committed to redefining inclusive business leadership.
The announcement represents far more than a change in ownership. It is a strategic commitment to ensuring that transformation begins where it matters most — at leadership level.
“I am delighted to welcome Masingita Masunga as my equal business partner and shareholder in MB Concepts. As a respected Transformation Strategist, Leadership Enhancer, Media Personality and Thought Leader, Masingita brings exceptional expertise and invaluable lived experience to our executive leadership,” said Mpete.
She said the partnership sends a deliberate message to corporate South Africa.
“As two Black women leading this organisation together, we are making a deliberate statement: meaningful transformation begins with leadership. Organisations are strongest when their leadership reflects the diversity, resilience and lived experiences of the people and communities they serve.”
The announcement coincides with the unveiling of a refreshed MB Concepts brand identity and logo, symbolising the company’s evolution and its renewed commitment to purpose-driven transformation.
Founded in 2014, MB Concepts is a 100% Black female-owned Talent Acquisition enterprise established to bridge the gap between Human Capital departments and business by sourcing and placing high-quality talent efficiently and strategically. The company has built a reputation for helping organisations strengthen their workforce while advancing employment equity, particularly through its specialised People with Disabilities portfolio, which supports organisations in achieving their Employment Equity disability targets by connecting them with highly skilled professionals.
Its commitment to service excellence has earned national recognition, including being voted “Best Coach of the Year” by SMMEs in 2017 for consistently going beyond the agreed scope of work in delivering value to clients.
Today, the company aspires to become one of South Africa’s leading, most reliable and trusted Talent Acquisition Business Partners.
Its mission is to attract, source and provide the highest-quality talent while empowering women, young people and persons with disabilities. Its values are rooted in creating measurable value for clients through integrity, professionalism, dedication and long-term strategic partnerships.
Mpete said the company’s growth reflects an unwavering commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility.
“As we celebrate this new chapter during the month in which we honour the legacy of President Nelson Mandela, we reaffirm our commitment to advancing diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility and transformation through action — not just conversation.”
For Masunga, whose career spans almost three decades in leadership, communications and transformation, becoming an equal shareholder represents the kind of structural inclusion that many organisations speak about but seldom implement.
Drawing on her lived experience as a person with a disability, she reflected on the subtle forms of exclusion that continue to exist in workplaces.
“People often say I am a champion of people with disabilities. While it sounds flattering, it erases 28 years of dedication, leadership and achievement across multiple fields. It reduces my identity to a single label instead of recognising me as fully human, fully capable and fully accomplished.”
She believes true inclusion requires leaders to move beyond stereotypes.
“Inclusive leadership begins with seeing the whole person — not the part that makes you comfortable. It means challenging assumptions, unlearning stereotypes and creating spaces where every voice is valued, not tokenised.”
Masunga described her appointment as one of the defining moments of her professional career.
“This Mandela Month, a real difference has been made in my life and work. I have become an equal partner at MB Concepts through the leadership of fellow Black woman Linneth Mpete. Beyond becoming a 50 percent shareholder, I have assumed the role of Director of Marketing and Communications and Brand Ambassador — a role in which I have long demonstrated my capability.”
She acknowledged that meaningful transformation requires more than symbolic appointments.
“This opportunity doesn’t magically transform every circumstance. As a 100% Black female-owned company, we will continue to face barriers. But there is a world of difference between being empowered through equity and being offered crumbs while expected to be grateful simply because you have a disability.”
For Masunga, Mandela Month should inspire organisations to embrace equity as a leadership principle rather than a compliance obligation.
“Mandela Month should be about transformation and equity because that is what Nelson Mandela fought for. MB Concepts doesn’t simply talk about inclusion — we live it. President Mandela already took the long walk. We can help organisations make that journey towards transformation and inclusion shorter.”
She added that sustainable inclusion begins in the boardroom.
“The real difference happens when inclusion is driven at leadership level, not delegated downward. MB Concepts is leading the way because we are trailblazers.”
Looking ahead, Masunga said the company remains committed to connecting people, businesses and opportunity through purposeful leadership.
“At Mpete Business Concepts, we believe that confidence, professionalism and purpose open doors. Whether we’re connecting exceptional talent with opportunity or helping businesses build high-performing teams, every step we take is driven by purpose.”
She said the company’s purpose is captured in a simple but powerful promise.
“Connecting Talent. Creating Opportunities. Driving Inclusion.”
The partnership positions MB Concepts as a business that demonstrates how diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility can become competitive advantages rather than compliance exercises.
As organisations across South Africa seek to build more representative, innovative and resilient workplaces, MB Concepts believes leadership must set the standard.
Mpete thanked clients, partners and stakeholders for supporting the company’s journey over the past decade.
“To our clients, partners and stakeholders, thank you for your trust and support. We look forward to creating even greater impact together.”
Together, Mpete and Masunga believe their partnership reflects the next phase of South Africa’s transformation journey — one where inclusion is measured not by promises or policies, but by who shares leadership, ownership and decision-making power.
In the spirit of Nelson Mandela’s enduring legacy, MB Concepts is demonstrating that transformation is most meaningful when it creates opportunity, shares equity, recognises talent and empowers people to lead. By connecting talent, creating opportunities and driving inclusion, the company is showing that the future of business belongs to organisations courageous enough to make inclusion a leadership imperative rather than a corporate aspiration.
