Holistic approach

The Marumo Foundation Sports Development Programme caters to aspiring individuals seeking to engage in sports programs. Participants will be challenged to surpass their goals, guided and mentored throughout the programmes.

The focus lies on empowering individuals in teamwork, enhancing problem-solving skills, understanding the physical health benefits of sports, learning ways to boost self-esteem, and managing pressure and stress through sports. The program also aims to explore the narratives of high-achieving individuals regarding their talents and identify cultural ideas about talent within individual stories.

How the Programme Works

The Marumo Foundation Sports Development Programme supports individuals in the following ways:

Empowering them to make healthy choices and improve physical fitness, aiding in the development of healthy bones, joints, muscles, and combating obesity.

Encouraging ownership in their learning, helping them seek challenging tasks and develop new skills.

Assisting young people in developing life skills such as setting attainable goals, overcoming challenges, and learning techniques to manage thoughts and emotions, applicable not only in sports but also in other areas of life.

Guiding individuals to understand and develop core values, aligned with The First Tee Nine Core Values: honesty, integrity, sportsmanship, respect, confidence, responsibility, perseverance, courtesy, and judgment.

After providing the Sports Development programmes, the foundation aims to organise a sports day for participants to showcase their unique talents and be recognised with medals and trophies.
