A new memoir is set to move the hearts of South Africans and readers around the world with its story of courage, endurance, and spiritual triumph. In Invisible Scars, Visible Strength, Karabo Rangwetsi bares her soul in a deeply personal account that journeys through trauma, loss, and survival — and ultimately towards faith, healing, and empowerment.
The book is a gripping narrative that reminds readers that no pain is permanent, and no wound too deep to heal. Through raw honesty and profound introspection, Karabo shares her truth as a woman who faced repeated abuse, sexual assault, and near-death experiences — and who still chose love, purpose, and forgiveness over bitterness.
“The path leading to the life of an overcomer is very lonely and the most difficult to embark on,” writes Karabo. “However, this story is not about the traumas I faced, but about how I overcame them.”
In sharing her story, Karabo reclaims her voice and, in doing so, offers others permission to begin their own healing. Her memoir is both a personal testimony and a universal message — that faith can anchor you in the storm, and resilience can light the way out of darkness.

A Journey from Brokenness to Wholeness
Invisible Scars, Visible Strength captures the many faces of trauma — but also the extraordinary power of transformation. From the painful realities of her early life to the emotional challenges of adulthood, Karabo shows that brokenness is not the end of the story. Through years of introspection, therapy, and spiritual grounding, she found a way to turn wounds into wisdom.
Readers will find themselves walking alongside her — through valleys of despair and peaks of hope — as she reveals how faith became her compass. Her story reminds us that the process of healing is neither linear nor quick, but always possible.
With courage and compassion, she writes for every person who has ever asked, “Will I ever feel whole again?”
“Resilience is the ability to recover quickly from shock,” she reflects. “Sometimes ‘quickly’ means years or even a lifetime. Be patient with yourself. Eventually, you will be resilient — and you will overcome.”
This is more than a memoir. It’s a roadmap for those searching for strength, a companion for those walking through pain, and a declaration that survival can evolve into victory.

An Invitation to Rise
Karabo’s message is clear and empowering: the human spirit is unbreakable.
Her memoir invites readers to:
• Find healing and closure in their own journeys
• Transform pain into purpose
• Reclaim their self-worth
• Rise like a phoenix — stronger, freer, and more compassionate
Every chapter is infused with hope and spiritual insight, offering a lifeline to those who may feel unseen or unheard. It is a reminder that while the scars may remain, they can become visible symbols of courage.

About the Author
Karabo Rangwetsi is a celebrated broadcaster, communicator, and mentor with nearly three decades of experience in television and radio. Her voice and presence have informed, inspired, and comforted millions across South Africa.
Her journey in broadcasting began in 1997 with the Bophuthatswana Broadcasting Corporation as a young reporter driven by curiosity and passion. In 1999, she joined the SABC as a news writer during the general elections — a temporary assignment that turned into a lifelong career. That same year, she helped pioneer Vodacom Newsbreak, South Africa’s first cellphone news service, as both compiler and presenter.
She later moved to SABC Africa, serving as a news producer and presenter between 2000 and 2002, before joining Channel Africa, the SABC’s international radio station. Over the next two decades, Karabo steadily rose through the ranks: from senior producer to executive producer for current affairs, and later for news and the Channel Africa website.
Between 2019 and 2021, she took on senior leadership roles, including acting programme manager and acting business manager, before officially becoming Programme Manager in 2021. After almost three decades of service to the public broadcaster, she resigned in January 2025 to pursue her personal mission — to help others heal, grow, and live with purpose.
Beyond the newsroom, Karabo is a tireless humanitarian. She dedicates her time to charity work, motivational speaking, and mentorship, particularly for young women and aspiring media professionals. Her message to them is simple but powerful: “You can rewrite your story — no matter how it began.”
Having triumphed over multiple rapes, years of abuse, and surviving breast cancer twice in four years, Karabo calls herself not a survivor, but an overcomer. Her story is a testament to the resilience of women and the transformative power of faith.
